My take on Bill isn't that he denies there's something to it all, but that he doesn't know what. I kept hearing him say, "I don't know"

To me, that says he thinks there might be but he just doesn't know. At one point he called himself a seeker, I believe. And that too said to me he seriously wants to know & is looking.

He, evidently hasn't met the right people who'll help open his eyes & ears, yet.

Anyway, whether he believes deep in his heart or not, I believe he'll be seeing a light due to his calling out the true believers with the message his movie sent.

I'm betting he makes a follow up & is probably gathering the material now.

He's right about religion, in my opinion. He's a comic so he has a funny way of going about making people think on this matter.

The point is, manmade organized religion has done nothing but divide people & is actually a dangerous tool. Even war has been in the name of religion.

True Christians are actually Christlike & try do as is written, Jesus did when he walked the earth. They can come from any doctrine, actually, but the difference between the real Christian & one under delusion of manmade rules, is that they have a personal connection as in a live wire to their "God"/"Creator," whatever they each should choose to call theirs.

The first problem is each thinks they are exclusive to truth & exclude all others. Not good.

"God" is the good energy source & a spiritual connection is necessary & it's personal. A good "God" loves all creation & would not be a negative force as religion creates, many times.

Most churches do not stress this & create followers that are mechanical in many ways. Not the real thing.

You don't need to go to a building as in meeting at church, Temple or whatever. That's okay but if it's one that doesn't love all of mankind & accept others respectfully in whatever their belief may be, then they're part of the problem & deception we have been purposely conditioned under.

We are the caretakers of this planet & it's time to take our responsibility seriously.

That entails exposing what manmade doctrine has done to our well being for far too many generations.

We have been brainwashed & it's time to wake up.

We must remember that in the very middle of the word "believe" is the word, "lie"

That should tell us we need be careful what we believe.

I was just about to get ready to ask you if he touched on Hinduism, Buddhism or any polytheistic religion, then I read the end of your article. Does religion need to die? No, I'm sorry your priest "rubbed" you the wrong way Bill...but I still love you. The problem is, that the monotheistic religions have no other gods to keep each other in check. One can not simply say this is what God says...that's final! More like this is what God says and the polytheists say but this god says this and that god says that...but who cares it's all an illusion. If Maher would only look into maya or lila he would see that you do not have to be a agnostic or atheist to come out of the closet, but simply a rational being. Maher too has faith, not in God...but in logic and science. A good deal of gnostics, hindis, buddhists, etc., have found a way to be both rational and have faith. I can't blame Maher though...the monotheists can easily turn people off of religion. Unfortunately they don't always get a chance to talk to that priest who has found enlightenment nor the Rabbi who has done the same. They only deal with a lot of rhetoric and people who use religion as ammunition for their hatreds and greed. This is one of the only cases where I have to say KILL the messenger, for he the messenger hasn't delivered the real message! I think I will just stop at this, I can go on for hours on this one.

Thanks sis, I really appreciate your comments.

I absolutely agree with your last sentence - it amazes me that there seems to be just enough religion in the world to divide mankind and to propel it towards its own destruction, but not enough to unite them and inspire them to make this world a paradise.

But we can each do our part.

"Let’s hope for humanity’s sake that instead of bringing the end of days we grow up and bring the end of days as we know them."

I really really like that.

I have to say you simply and wonderfully summed that up.
When I watched this film I found it hard to swallow Maher's antagonizing behavior and I thought he was being shallow by only examining "the big 3". However, he does make the greatest point about not allowing the crazy's who are determined to end the world to be successful. I've seen that more people, especially from younger generations, are yearning for a more simple and spiritual life that functions harmoniously with nature. Let's hope for humanity's sake that instead of bringing the end of days we grow up and bring the end of days as we know them.
